~ REMEMBER ME ~


As years go by I realize, my time grows near the end,
So I will write my epitaph, before I turn the bend.
Remember me as someone, who cared about the soul,
Whose interest was more spiritual, than was my human role.


Remember me as one who loved my family and friends,
Each one a gift of mystery, to solve before life ends.
Remember me as someone, who learned so much, and still,
My yearning to discover more, was stronger than my will.


Remember me as one who tried to lend a helping hand,
To those who were less fortunate, to those who were less grand.
Remember me in kinder ways, as I'll remember you,
Forgive me for the mindless things, I never meant to do.


Remember me as one who loved our dear four legged friends,
Who taught me "unconditional" means love that never ends.
Remember me affectionately, a smile across my face.
Still loving you the way I did, before I left this place.


Above all else remember me, as one who came to learn,
Life's simple lessons, harshly taught, before I could return,
And if these lessons touched you, in some small enlightened way,
Remember me the entity, who brightened up your day.
