Ten long years I've learned

From one venerable master

How to conquer the dragons

With my double-edged sword.

Expending in practicing so

Quite a fortune, I become perfect

In the art of slaughter which

I have never exercised because

Of the dragons' natural dying out

Long long time ago. . . Tough luck!

From all I've read of Eastern thought (actually very little), the master enhances both the mind and spirit along with the body and skill with the sword. But, since the pen is mightier than the sword, the master wisely commits the understudy to a life of very sharp pen on one side and very sharp tongue on the other. Thereby, vanquishing all the dragons of lesser learning that reach him or her in the remaining years of life.

Eh . . . What a sad, sad plight you have found yourself in. All that dragon slaying knowledge and no dragons to fine tune it. Drat!

As I see it, Alexander: Only with absolute fearlessness can we slay the dragons of mediocrity that invade our gardens. Sometimes we become our own dragons and we have to rescue ourselves from ourselves. Awesome print. Enjoyed. r
