In case you don't notice -
The so-called 'verses'
of this non-poem, or 'free verse'
piece of possible 'existentialism' -
is puposely presented in lines of -
3 - 4 - 5 ...

Is there a manic reason?
YES- Ego - Manic ...

I DID IT MY WAY!

DEATH !

To Die - the Cessation of Life.
To Live - the Continuation of Life.
To Let Die - to Allow a Life to End.

The Beginning - to - The End -
A Vision of Peaceful Gardens -
Gravestones - Markers - Crosses - Mausoleums - Flowers -
Ad Infinitum.

We are Told That - It All Began in The Garden of Eden.
In Most Cases - It Ends in a Cemetery -
Many of Which - are Named:
“Garden of Peace” - “Garden of Tranquility”
“Garden of Concord.”

In the Jewish Faith -
Mourners Must Wait for One Year -
To Visit the Gravesite of a Beloved.

Most Other Religious Sects do Otherwise.
The Very Next - Day - Week - Month -
Mourners Visit - Congregate - Deposit Flowers -
Kneel - Pray - Talk - Remember - Reminisce.

Granite - Marble - Limestone - - Ivory -
Copper - Bronze - Silver - Gold -
Flowers - Flags - Angels -
These - and More - Adorn The Depositories -
Of Loved Ones.

Inscriptions - DOB - DOD -
Name - Relationship -
Mother - Father- Sister - Brother.

Son - Daughter -
Grandson - Granddaughter -
Niece - Nephew -
Aunt - Uncle -

Cousin - Friend - Neighbor -
Associate - Fellow Worker -
Patriot - Veteran -
Young - Old -
Baby - Child - Adult - Grandparent -

Epitaphs Abound -
“Here Lies ...”
Wife - Husband - Lover.

Some - Like my Lady-Friend -
Just Must Visit on Certain Days of The Year -
I Don’t! I Used To -
When I was Younger -

But, for Years Now -
My Prayers - My Talks - My Thoughts -
My Remembrances of Things Past -
Are Done - Purely Mentally - Purely Ideally -
Purely Personally -

While Driving - While Walking -
While Waking - While Sleeping -
As Something Reminds me of - That Person!

Morbidity? That - My Friend -
Is The Negative Approach -
Soul - Spirit - Essence - the Positive!
The Continuation of an Entity!

Heaven - Paradise - Utopia - Eden -
Are They All There? Waiting for Us?
Have They Prepared a Mansion for Us?
Will There Be Jubilation?
Re-Union?

Or - Were Each of Them -
Already Re-Incarnated?
Are They Watching Over Us?

Is She - The Butterfly - Hovering and Soaring?
Is He - The Carpenter Bee - Buzzing and Boring?
Are They - Our Guardian Angels?
Are We - Attuned to Their Presence and Prescience?

Is DEATH - Truly - The Final Act?
Or - Merely - The Beginning - Of a Purer Existence -
Far Beyond - Our Limited Mortal Understanding?
In The Famous Words of Shakespeare’s Puck -
“What Fools These Mortals Be!”

Final? Over? Done? Finito? Kaput?

I DON’T THINK SO!

How Say You?

Puck is one of the world's greatest philosophers, I think. He is one of my favorite characters anyway. All of life speaks to something much greater than ourselves. We are only "big" in our own eyes because of our egos. We are a seed, not unlike the zygote we started out as in our mother's belly. We grow in the confined space til it is time to exit into another kind of living. I think death is like that. We exit this world for another kind of existence. Just my brief thoughts on this. Great questions and observations here Tom. Hugs, J

What really matters is; today, this moment in time, and I will leave the rest for Puck's fools to figure out. Nice writing.

This country has seen good times and bad times and I truly believe in my heart and soul this is another storm we must all buckle down and weather through. Facing the realities, but keeping a glimmer of hope, I pray good will prevail over evil as it has in the past...

Be always safe,
Karen
