You'll know what this is all about and if you don't then it wasn't written for you. ;-)

Poem Artwork

You saw beyond the superficial,
filmy one-dimensional facade,
traced the vein of gold
through unrelenting rock to the source.
Saw through the mirage and found an oasis
in a desert brushed white with doubt.
You drew back somber folds of cloud
to reveal a guileless blue sky.
Ignored the clamour and noise,
though not indifferent to the chaos.
For you had purpose and a goal
You strove to achieve your objective
in spite of all obstacles.
You said you had nothing to lose
because you 'started out with nothing'
It took a giant step
- a leap of faith, across continents.

You found a real person,
an unsure child-woman
behind the image with the sad eyes
Flesh and blood, no living fantasy.
All too earthly, all too real.
There was no enigma, no mystery.
For she opened to you like a flower
in full uncompromised bloom.
(far too much bloom if you ask me ;-))

No man before you had ever really seen her.
All t
hey saw was the mirror she held up
and in it a reflection of their own needs.

You became her hero,
(that part you say you don't play well)
her beacon of light in a dark vortex
She looked to you for answers
when all she had was questions.
You didn't provide the answers,
(because you are only too human)
And the irony in all this is that
in spite of your protestations
about what role God played in it all.
He heard her questions
and gave her an answer - You!

This is a stunning poem, I love the sense of humour in the midst of the depths of such an intense emotional experience. It brought me tears because it resonates strongly with my own experience. Thank you.

This reminds me so much of the symbolism in the movie "Deliver Us From Eva" with Gabrielle Union and LL Cool J. Very comic yet very serious movie about how people use power-mongering to cover up their own insecurities, until someone lets them say "it's okay to feel."

blessin's Sis Chanti, this is quite nice...

I'm afraid I don't know what this is about, Chanti, but I know beautiful writing when I read it. I love the looking beyond the obvious and sometimes gloomy to see what is within, or beneath. Bravo! Well done. Peace. Joyce

Thank you so much Chanti. This is sooo true too. The answer is us, and we have to live that answer, not the questions. Thnx a lot for sharing this with us.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to the world, peace on earth, & (((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister, Barbie

Yup I sure have/did. No I am a hero and love that part best, as well as being humble, God's in everything you ask him to be in. Right poem but wrong name up top. Oh well what's in a name....

I think we all know what this is about and all celebrate with you the joy and happiness that finding a soul mate brings a heart. Though you broke a lot of hopes and dreams when you were answered because of your woman child ways we still smiled glad you would be happy. Great write, great lady, great love.
