Of our future who can ever tell,
Of Him who causes the tolling of the bell.
Although we may be lost in the deepest well,
The light of the heavens will cast its spell.
Neither the day, nor the hour, can foretell
The moment we will hear the death knell.
From all our wickedness we do truly rebel,
Good thoughts initiate what good deeds propel,
With repeated oaths, we wish our story to retell.
The devil bewitches in a manner to compel,
All the impurities of the mind we want to quell,
Through the destiny of my life my evils to dispel.
All my demonic desires I bid a final farewell,
I only endeavor within a pure heart to dwell.
ONCE WE SURRENDER OUR LIVES TO 'HIM'...THE 'BATTLES' IN OUR LIVES BECOME HIS. THE ENEMY OF THIS WORLD, AND ALL THAT'S IN IT, NEVER STOPS TRYING TO OVERTAKE US BUT GOD NEVER STOPS DEFEATING HIM. WE WILL NEVER KNOW ALL THE THINGS THAT GOD HAS SAVED US FROM UNTIL WE REACH HEAVEN. SO, INDEED, WE CAN WITH CONFIDENCE SAY...'MY DEMONS, FAREWELL." ENJOYED AND THANKS FOR THE SHARE. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

I admire your conviction to attain a pure heart! The evils in this world are many. You did not use the word, "hell". Why should you? Believe it or not, there was a time I wanted to be a Missionary!
agree with the sagely minded Jerry. this piece sounds like a powerful charm / spell of a man who goes thru and knows what he's talking about. yes, our hearts are pure by definition, but there are some other internal organs which use to be sick; hence the manner to compel. . . Some believe, there are demons which dwell inside us constantly, and those which come to us from the outer world. how to cope with them on both ends is the secret of all secrets that only exorcists know. Cheers, alex

But for those who struggle with evil and can't find a solution, I repeat the only thing I remember from reading McBeth… "Out! Damn spot!"

but they always return.
At least I can recognize them,
from the lessons I've learned.
