-- Language of the Universe –

John Herlihy

At first silky silence abounds,

As infinities make their rounds.

Time’s continuum not yet known,

Eternity a hand-made tapestry sewn.

The universe born into quietude,

Drawn from the realm of certitude.

Silence uttered the first, the only, word,

Unto and beyond the celestial horizon heard.

All of existence captured by the word “BE”,

Sound evokes darkness and light to see.

The scattered pieces exist as atoms,

Conscious life as Eves and Adams.

Rhythms flow from celestial spheres,

As sound whispered into angelic ears.

Harmonious tempos offer sheer delight,

Blending sight and sound into dazzling light.

Language of the universe as wind chimes,

Meaning of the universe as poetic rhymes.

Now whenever the silence is again heard,

Memory evokes the song of the first bird.

The silence, once broken, united together,

Into a harmonious cord that sounds forever.

We listen, ever attentive, humbly, meekly,

As the eternal Spirit sings to us ever sweetly.

I LOVE THIS POEM'S IMPLICATION; WHENEVER ONE IS, IN THE ENTIRE WORLD...THE LANGUAGE OF GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT IS A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE. TO ME THAT MEANS WE ARE HIS FOUNTAINS AND FROM US SPEWS HIS LOVE. IT IS AN AUTOMATIC THING, FOR AS THE WORD TELLS US; A FOUNTAIN DOES NOT BRING FORTH BOTH SWEET WATER AND BITTER WATER. EITHER THE WATER IS SWEET OR THE WATER IS BITTER. THEN, BY OUR WORDS...WE ARE KNOWN. WONDERFUL!!!! LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS +INSPIRATIONS

As the Prophet Isaiah posited: "The Lord God has opened my ear; and I was not rebellious, nor did I turn away." Thanks for sharing. r

You have placed much tranquility in the universe. But I know that, from the very beginning, the universe has been a very violent place. Without that violence creating all of the elements that make up the chemistry of compounds, there would be no seeing or hearing from any salient being. All that came out of millions of years of relative tranquility so that life could begin, evolve, and become conscious of the world around it.

In that silence we have the opportunity to evoke all sounds of past, I can see your thoughts are well chosen today John, I hear them in your silence, and in your words, :)
