I see some people who will not be bowed
Their head held high, feelings justifiably proud
I see some people who will not give up
Even when they know all hope is lost
Some people who realize that being lost
Actually brings them much closer to being found
Some people help others to find their way home
And in doing so end up finding their own way home
Who loves the loved one without any thought to oneself
Even when the love of another can cause a lot of pain
A love given free-willingly and out of profound concern
Even though you may not be loved the same in return
We learn from some people what we ourselves don’t know
We learn from other people what we don’t want to know

And then I realized like that song, the poem was really about love and inclusion rather than exclusion as originally thought. We have the innate ability to learn from other people. The way they behave we can either emulate or not. We should be able to determine right from wrong while doing it.
Abraham Lincoln was right with, "You can fool some of the people some of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can't fool all of the people all of the time."
