What drives us to do what we do
Fast forward as if we everything knew
What will slow us down and things question
Set us on the right course upon reflection
What is the spark to fill us with good intention
To fill the emptiness with our own invention
What drives us not to do what we shouldn’t do
To hold back from what we thought we knew
What keeps us in check when we have free reign
Acting like a spoiled king with many years to reign
What will advance us forward to turn the corner
To avoid all impending mistakes and preserve honor
To do or not to do, perhaps that is the question
We are driven by forces drawn of inner reflection

Seriously, your poem makes the point that we are often caught up in emotional drives that take us away from what we really should be doing. I know that I'm guilty of wasting way too much time on past times rather than writing. But, I used the excuse that I'm retired I don't have to write for at least 8 hours every day like I did for my whole career. Thank goodness.
