HOW WONDERFUL! THANK GOD FOR...'AGAIN'...JOHN. IT KEEPS HOPE ALIVE! AMEN. THINKING OF..."...I WILL COME, AGAIN...". LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...HIS+INSPIRATIONS
The last three lines we be wondering with the double negative whether you really want to see or not see. It appears that the intention is, "to not see again," perhaps because the pain would be too great.
On the other hand, makes a good song that the repetition allows people to remember the words and sing along.
In its simplicity, the longing rises out of the melancholy to remind us all of that word "Again". One can identify with the word as an emotion attached to more than one entity, or allow it to address a love lost, or perhaps in pause, waiting to return again in another form. A poem that allows your readers to find their own longings and address them. Well done, John.
It looks like you may have created the art of AI, John. If this is your composition, it is a vibrantly-keen match for your ‘Again.’ This poem, for me, felt like travel…in a train, the rhythmic sound of rails clacking or rumbling, some movement of traversing ties that have a cadence, come and go. That’s why I find the image cohesive, a train moving forward. The volume turned up highest for me on the lines: “Return again/Sad emotion comes back to grieve” — and in all these lines, the long line could switch places with the short line and still deliver the goods. My book of poetry is being redone by me, I have a beautiful cover designed and the book will have a few more than 200 poems in it. I am going to have it printed on demand here in Canada. When it is done I will let you know when it is done and if anyo
