AGE OLD ISSUES
The two Carols sat one day talking, in utter disbelief
One had sadly lost a toe and the other had lost her teeth
They both viewed life as a status of tribulation and trial
When on reaching senior citizenship, they were both in denial
If it’s not one thing it’s another, they miserably lament
One Carol’s got a new hip while the other’s fitted with a stent
It’s all about your health these days and how long you will linger
And if you’ve got the right cream for the wart that’s on your finger
They say 70 is the new 60 but they didn’t figure out
Mammograms and ultrasounds are what old-age is all about
There’s arthritis, high blood pressure, and cricks in the knee
And don’t forget the weak bladder and the urgency to wee
They continued to discuss the shedding of extremely flaky skin
And one Carol admitted she hated the saggy skin that she was in
They’ve got many a sudden ailment that takes them unawares
And both agreed this really was a rum state of affairs
Each Carol wondered what to do when all was said and done
When you add in memory loss as well, it seems old age has won
They tried not to be disheartened, but it’s difficult to smile
When the only one interested in your body now
Is your GP on speed dial!
