It's nightfall and the club resounds within;
lo and behold, regular crowd shuffles in.
The band cranks up, there's one, now there's two;
dance floor gets hoppin', others tap their shoe.
Some dance for fun, some dance for exercise;
flirting eyes abound, a few might fantasize.
There goes Uncle Pete, he's on the move;
week after week, always in the groove.
Heavyweight and his wife, eating as usual;
they're enjoying the cuisine, always consensual.
The band takes a break, now you can hear;
a lot of scuttlebut, what an atmosphere.
Now it's really late, some have reached dissipation;
they just don't realize yet, their souls in deviation.
It seems they still never find what they're looking for;
a life without meaning, a never-ending bore.
It's nightfall and the club resounds within;
lo and behold, regular crowd shuffles in.
The cops are down the road, watching the black-top trails;
a few are weaving despite caution signs along the rails.
