IRREPLACEABLE

My wife could find another man as charming or as cute.
But just ‘cause she’s in love with me, I have no substitute.
My image on her wedding photo never is erasable.
Marriage is the one place I am simply irreplaceable.
My band could find a banjo player just as good as me,
Who’s better on the mandolin and even sings on key.
But in my life it’s just my wife who finds me not displaceable.
Marriage is the one place I am simply irreplaceable.
My boss could find a therapist who shrinks as well as me,
Who’s just as funny, makes more money, wise as wise can be.
But though I one day disappear, not ever to be traceable,
Marriage is the one place I am simply irreplaceable.
My family could find one morning that I woke up dead,
But I still have a twin named Bob who’d stand in in my stead.
So if I vanish in the air and you think I’m effaceable,
Marriage is the one place I am always irreplaceable.
There’s no one who will ever know my wife the way I do,
Who knows her dreams, her needs, her fears, with all that we’ve been through.
You can disagree with me but here I’m not persuasible,
Marriage is the one place I am always irreplaceable.
