Not only will I basically be "alone" at Christmastime; to make matters worse, I will have to work ! That said, I will remember how us kids (me and my siblings) used to wake up early on Christmas morning and assemble at the head of the stairs in pecking order, until mother said we could storm the gifts under the Christmas tree and check out the tangerines and peppermint sticks in the stockings hung on the fire place. Call it the writer in me, but I always used to check whether Santa had drunk the milk and ate the home-made cookies that we left him (and the carrots for the reindeer!). Merry Christmas, Jane.
