All the family Gathered 'round the tree She hates his girlfriend Sister 'til the end Brother hates her beau Still a smile he shows This is family Sitting 'round the tree Ignoring it all Grama and her shawl Wonders how she made Such a cool brigade Jane Noponen Perinacci

Those family get togethers,
can sure be a hoot.
Sitting in the middle,
I'd like to give mine the boot.

You know what they say, you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your relatives.

Great to hear, birthday togetherness can mend, temperately, at least, some bad blood. Love the way this poem is so significantly written, seems like your readers should feel right at home.
