Focus

Seems that I awoke on the philosophical side of the bed today...

Focus…

Cannot seem to otherwise focus,

Have done so before, enjoyed seeing the crocus,

Focusing can be done, for a person so easily,

Just reset your internal set up, read the directions,

So easy it is, why must it be so hard,

For centering is the same, I must however be on my guard…

I meditate, I focus, I center, I am at one with the self,

I clean out the cobwebs in my head, afterwards my feet they feel like lead,

I cleanse the self of ill or negative thoughts; I do for me, all I can see,

If you can understand this, then you are enlightened more than you thought,

I wish it were me; enlightened in thought as well as body,

But my body is and will ever be just so shoddy…

To focus is to see things for what they are,

To realize within, what is without, to see the world, in all its humor,

To be part of that humor, or to die, as humor is life & without life, we are dead…

Hmmm, Ed.. I must disagree with some of what you're saying here... there are times when I write my best when I'm "out of fucus"... sometimes to be inexact, able to take in a broad spectrum, brings on a huge cascade of words and ideas... Yes, to focus is a grand thing, but I avoid wishing to be completely focused all the time, so I can marvel in the "big picture' as well. Ok? This is a fine, honest, open poem and very thoughtfully expressed. katy xox.

Transcendental Sojourn-Arrival to One Journal by Liz Cosline

Explains the realizations that have given the author the views of living life fully. The life each person dreams about. You must take a look at yourself before dreams can be reached. Deciding what is the core of belief.
