Wharf of my Dreams…

We can always dream,

Even those where we sometimes scream,

Not this one though, more to me like ice cream,

This wharf has me under its spell, being for me the supreme dream…

Each place I have been, has for me some interest,

West to Missouri, south to Florida, north to New England,

Each direction brings to me thoughts of a better special place,

One that we, Rene’ & I and Ruffie,

Found and enjoy more than most, as it reminds us of our childhood,

A town on an island, with charm & soul and docks made of wood…

We both fell in love with this little island,

We would someday like to call it home, or at least have a home there,

We thought of a business there as well, a small shop selling trinkets so fair,

But for now, I love the thought, the memories from our time down there,

No other place did spark my interest, or does make me as relaxed,

As this little isle in North Carolina, there found is the answer to our prayer…

Great, dreamy write, Ed. You took me there. There's something else that I find odd. You mention a René(e), my new girlfriend's name is Renee and the young lady who sold me a vaccuum cleaner yesterday, well, her name is Renee. Too much coincidence. But it's cool, man. Love and peace to you and Rufuz. Regis

Oh, Ed.. this is my first stop in some reading and it just seems to be fate or something.. to watch that picture drop and be dazzled and enchanted by the same things that fill my own dreams. I must say, dear friend, this place, this pic, has inspired you truly... your poem is really lovely. I sometimes ache to just be somewhere like this. I love this entire page.. pic, poem all of it. Sigh.. katy xox. p.s. never, ever give up your dreams! It's a poets lifeblood.

Seems like a lovely serene place to be in. I love this and wish I were there too.
