Maybe it was not meant to be, But damn I thought it was, As far as I could see, They were the happiest couple, No longer will they be a couple, Now both will again be single...
Marriage… Does not seem to be something taken lightly, The chief cause of divorce is likely marriage, Interpersonal relationships take many years of practice, All should not be entered into slightly… A pair of friends I have do I, Seemingly intelligent & compassionate they are, Now I hear, much to my personal chagrin, They are discussing plans for divorce, Throwing their marriage vows out the window, Better they should both stay together till one or the other becomes a widow… Just my opinion herein stated, My breath taken away when told yes abated, Such a wonderful relationship these two did have, I was always envious of them both, When married they were, I was quite elated… Now for myself to deal with their break up, I try to put myself into their shoes, Can’t can I understand sometimes, The intricacies of love and relations, Maybe I am naïve, but love is forever is it not? And if there is true love, nothing can take that away, Or am I living in a fairy tale world of unrealistic beliefs…? © ed ~ 10/4/04

I agree with Tinka. Love is forever. I was married for 28 yrs. Not all of those yrs were happy. The first 10 were good yrs, but then my hubby changed for the worse. Then my best friend, now my soulmate, gave me the courage & a place to stay if things got to the point where I had to leave. I was the one that "had to act" and leave. I love my best friend then & I still love my soulmate today for giving me the strength & the courage. So love is forever in marriage when you are married to the right person.

Yes Ed love is forever...whether if it is towards a friend, child or partner...but there are factors in life that makes it impossible to carry on being with such a person in marriage or what ever...when you get abused by this person...physical or mently...it does not mean you stopped loving them...it's just the matter of you have to make a choice to live with the abuse or run like hell...and being me I choice to stay for as long as 33 years now...but after so long you start to feel trapped and to scared to take the next step....not knowing if tomorrow will be filled with more cruelty than I am use to!!

I was married 22 years when I took a walk. Most would of looked upon us as you view your friends. It is what happens behind closed doors that tell the real truth of a relationship. We were too young, and grew different ways. He is now remarried to a very lovely lady. In truth I should of walked out when my daughter was only one, that was when the first warning sign took place. But I was brought up in a "You made your bed, now lay in it," Lesson One, Sometimes the bedding needs changing.
