I promise that I won't attack anyone personally, though I never have on AD, so I guess that's not much of a promise. I'll close when Michael Moore decides to close. I'll close when Al Franken and the New York Times closes. Closure, something I wouldn't need if my candidate had lost. Just kidding… damn.

don't ever call yourself a loser; that is one thing you are NOT! i agree with what karla said! as long as we remain united, we ALL win! now, we may not disagree, but we are free to make a choice and make our voices heard! think about that, and be glad you are an AMERICAN and live in AMERICA, and not someplace like Iran, Iraq, or Africa, where one CAN'T voice their opinion, without fear of getting shot or DEATH!

You have taken up the cause for healing and repairing and brought me to a feeling that I can begin some closure. It takes time to heal, 'to the victor go the spoils' they say... let it not be by invitation only. We did, indeed, lose the election, Ed, my friend, but America did not lose US. Kindness does not know politically leanings... it is a human gesture. Rather than boast, I hope the victors will recognize that it takes all our voices to keep America free and safe. Very well said, Ed. The bashing seems to be continuing from both sides. It is time to accept victory or defeat like an adult with grace and dignity. The people have made their choice and in the end, as John Kerry said, we are all fortunate because when we awaken today we are still Americans.

I think that when John Kerry gave his speech and did so in a manner that showed dignity and grace was all that needed to be said. I find it redundant too that others continue their rather nasty comments. One thing this morning that I read that does not say much for the author in that she kept bashing Bush. She said nothing about the battle that Elizabeth Edwards is facing and this woman has breast cancer. I sent my own get well wishes to the lady who I felt before the election had class and now I think she has even more. But even though I voted for Bush I agree with what you say it needed saying.

Ed--An honest, heartfelt write here.
In my opinion I think some are feeling hurt about the lack of respect towards others right now. It always amazes me how we keep screaming for our rights and claim we respect the opinions of others...but we seem to do so only when it feels good or right. Something wrong with that picture.
Thank you for having the courage to post this honest piece.
