Wiping my personal hard drive clean

Sometimes certain memories are so strong I cannot hardly deal with them...

Wiping my personal hard drive clean…

If I could, I surely would,

I’d pay someone if it could be done,

To wipe away my memories before eighty-two,

No longer would I remember, but I’d still remember you…

Too many do I have of memories from the past,

Too many do I have of memories that do last,

Perhaps it would be better if I were to cast,

Myself into the deep blue sea, right away no more memories, that fast…

Sure everyone does have memories they cannot forget,

But for me I seem to have some that I will forever regret,

Those that I did hurt, those that bring on at night a cold sweat,

Paid to the state my debt, but internally I can do nothing but fret…

If I could, I surely would, but I can’t so I won’t,

Change my past of that of a hood, on my own I must try to do good,

For others I fear they will not understand, yes I will be forever misunderstood…

Okay at least you want to try and some never get this right Ed and maybe it is time for some of the rest of us to wipe the hard drive clean as well.

We all live with regrets of one kind or another. The important thing is whether we have learnt from them. This write shows me that you have. Time to forgive yourself sweet friend.

Peace and Light to you :-)

A terrific well-penned composition exposing the terrible pitfalls of having memories no longer desired. One can only remain committed to fostering hope through knowing time will heal all. Peace thru learning from one’s mistakes. Happy Holidays to you and yours.

Some memories aren't worth keeping. Its learning to deal with those you can't erase...learning how to use them to make you stronger.
