A short life we live,
During its passing we try to give,
To each other something only God can forgive...

Poem Artwork

In the Blink of an Eye…

From childhood we grew,

We know this to be true ,

Lost innocence on knees in the loo,

Learned as we went along, everything new…

Our lives sometimes a turmoil,

Shakespeare would have called it to toil,

We do what we can to ourselves to spoil,

Passed by we have been, mistakes we try to foil…

Time does fly,

Passed us, it did, by,

We grow; yet wonder why,

We live to the day we do give up and die…

To the heavens we think we will fly,

Six foot under the ground we are placed,

While family members and friends do cry,

We sit on our headstones and with amazement contemplate our past lives,

Should we try again, should we move on to the next plain?

Or should we just sit on our headstones and get drunk on rye…?

Good questions, Ed. When I leave this I think I am going to spend a little time digesting all that I have passed through here. Not being one to remain idle for any long period of time, I will then probably want to move forward and learn more. Such is my nature. However the headstone and rye part doesn't sound all that bad considering there will be no hangover.
Take care,
Sherry
