I am in New York and on 9/11 it was terrible!!!
thousands died and it went on for a long, long time.
I ride the train that goes to the Trade Centre..well, it still
says; 'World Trade Center on the front of the train and people
are still extremely affected.

Not sure why the US never hears it but I know that Canada has offered help. Just as we did in Sept 11..........but yet you never hear aobut it? I find this strange.

The world cries and USA rushes to their aid. We always send supplies and manpower to help with dire situations. We have been promised some things from about 25 countries, but nothing of the magnitude of what is needed for the displaced people of the gulf states. UK has again stood beside us as has Australia and many more. Even torn and tattered Jamaca has offered us assistance. I am grateful to all who have met the call and pray that others will offer assistance as time progresses. What sickens me is that we were called "stingy" in what we promised to Africa and chided for not doing enough for the tsunami vicitims. Where USA is concerned, it is not simply what our government does for others in time of need, but what our people do. I usually give half of my grocery money for an extended period of time, knowing that I can live meagerly if it means that somewhere a child may have something to eat. Americans are the most generous people and country on the planet. Where is the hand that gives back when we are the ones in need? Very well stated, Ed, I didn't think you had it in you, but you have restored my faith and confirmed my thoughts.

I was amazed to hear a representative of Germany blame the United States for creating Global warming which they blamed for our dilemma. Such insensitivity in view of what is taking place is truly amazing.
