Poem Artwork

We traverse life sometimes slinging mud,

We travel through sometimes a flood,

Of thoughts and feelings and anxieties and stress,

Sometimes as well we do fall down with a thud…

Are we happy with life as it stands?

Do we wish to leave it in whoever’s hands?

Are we ready to meet what life demands?

Are we able to accept what God commands?

Puddles we see more than a few,

Yes we all know this is nothing new,

Maybe better it is to go through life snorting glue,

Brains then are burnt out, nothing we will be able to understand,

Everything we know, feel or remember, we will, in the end, misconstrue …

You are quite the philosopher, my friend.

PS I use Elmer's when things really get bad.

Brilliant...especially that last bit which I feel is so deep that it could do as a poem on its own.Looking at that great picture above your poem I am reminded of myself as a wee girl,I just loved jumping in the puddles ( they are sort of fun.) I love your poem and am still quite breathless from its profound ending.
Best wishes always
from
kay.
