Nice, I find to watch a non-dysfunctional family work together...

While visiting a friend,

He was helping his son,

Build a project for school,

His son but twelve, found his dad so cool…

Never do I recall,

My dad doing anything but making me ball,

Beating me seemed his job,

My childhood he allowed others to rob…

Was a nice thing to watch,

This father and son team working together,

My dad would have rather had a scotch,

Guess though I did learn to bartend quite young,

Better than getting on my butt his belt of leather…

Though now I really do understand,

He was doing his best with his own knowledge,

My dad gone now & he is missed, never had I that planned,

I just enjoyed the few moments I had interacting,

With my friend and his son,

These two were of their time together protracting…

You've heard it before, but here goes........
You are fortunate NOW to have a friend through whom you can
enjoy such an experience. Far too many, do NOT!
Each of us have those scars of youth which we need to write about.
You write of yours honestly and well.
Your friends on AD like that...... and like you for it.

Oh I always helped and still do with my kids school projects...and even got a Trofee for Moms work...lol!!

And I still keep each and every one "we" made!!

They can show their kids one day how it was done...by showing them our teamwork!!!!

Love Tinka
