Taken So Young...

He was taken at an age so young, He read & understood Kafka & Jung, His poetry turned music to fun, He stated what he felt, speaking to the Son� Some say acid did his brain burn out, I did as much as he did or just about, My trips like his, to God�s house I did shout, Why take him so young, he was a son of which we sung� His experience with a shaman, Doing peyote in a sweat lodge, Granted did make his memories a hodge podge, He was still a great philosopher of his time, Only the good seem to die young, Nietzsche did light this philosophers fire in rhyme� � zed 1/31/07

When I listen to his music, it gets me sad, as much as I loved him......I think of the people who did not make it...those I loved who wound up in rehab, and prision, broken......so brave fool hearty and naieve....all those rebels I hung out with....and thank God I was too much of a scaredy cat to try drugs......I am weird enough on my own........great tribute Ed........pax A

Excellent tribute poem Ed! It is a mystery as to why some succumb
at such an early age, but our bodies though the same have unknown weaknesses within, so some can take the drugs etc and others can't.

Along with Boaz, Moon and Hendrix,he risked the wild life, leaving the door wide open for a premature death to step in. Ironic that Nietzsche - who declared God dead - should find his house used as a bible printing press after he died. Nietzshce is long dead, it is God's light that lives on.

I see where you are coming from but is it "taken" or lifestyle choice? I had a brother-in-law who drank too much partied too much and drove a motorcycle without his helmet when drunk and ran off the road into a tree. Some say he was taken too soon, but I wonder if he took himself out too soon. Any way...another good poem, Ed.
