On the right side of the right house on that top floor is that porch I speak of here

Poem Artwork

A place to play,

A place to catch the suns rays,

Overlooking the boardwalk & beach,

My tank, my spaceship, kept me out of parents reach…

A place for our dog to lounge & bark,

A relaxing place after dark,

Bombing friends with water balloons,

Most of the times I missed the mark…

Twas’ my place to get away,

Remember nightmares there of bears,

Used to climb from the porch to the roof,

Made me feel quite altogether aloof…

Crawling under the porch to hear what was all about that the grown-ups wanted to talk off freely after sending us children away?

this made me smile...funny how we all seem to have those special places when we are kids...and sometimes when we are adults. This is good work, Ed.

HAHA Kewl Write ED. A place of retreat, to waterbomb any poor unsuspecting person from a great height.

We had a porch in the front of our old house, and it was enclosed.
Now the fireplace chimmney was inside the porch...it was painted over with silver, and in the cracks of the bricks, my brother would put cracka's, usually what we called double bangers, light them and we'd run like hell, and wait for the bang, then the double unhappy explosion from within the house.
We'd both clear off, but sadly the chickens always come home to roost.
Oh but it was a hell of a bang we made, worth it LOL

Loved this memory of the porch, our porch as a child was a gathering place for kids. We would often gather to play games when it was raining, use it as a stage to perform great shows in the summer, share secrets as teens, sit with a date, and later visit family! A great memory you've penned and a great memory you allowed me to recall!
Blessings,

Ed,
Porches are GREAT. I had one as a child, and still have one now. I spend alot of time there watching my dog Blackie play. Enjoyed reading this, my friend.

Many blessings,
~Linda
