Poem Artwork

When just the thought of snow,

Brought on happiness, no woe,

When inclement weather meant,

Days off from school, the day playing spent…

When Christmas meant something happy,

No memories of past pain & things crappie,

When the future appeared bright,

Not suffering were we then from fright…

When the New Year brought just another birthday,

Looking forward to being another year older was the way,

When we didn’t understand why mom did cry,

Thinking about her own memories, we just asked why…

When Easter brought on thoughts of a bunny,

And eggs hidden in the grass & mom calling us honey,

When June meant the end of another school year,

And the summer meant nothing but days on the beach without fear…
