Poem Artwork

Behind closed doors,

Razor wire covering fences,

Cell doors with one foot openings,

Opened at the behest of a guard…

Scared the first several days,

Not sure of the places way,

Jumping at every little noise,

Door locked me away…

Three times one year,

Not long in general scheme,

Many there longer, a shame,

Pay back for dirty deeds done,

Once used to the loneliness,

It could “almost” be called fun…

I can't even imagine being locked up and I'm not claustrophobic. I think those endless empty hours would drive me nuts. Patrick

I have never been there either but spent enough time there visiting friends and relatives in the past to know that it is definately not my cup of tea.

Quite a perspective that you share here, Ed; I've never been there so thank you. Love and peace,
