Did you ever wake up and think of someone you haven't seen since you were very young...?

Poem Artwork

My grandmom did it make,

When I was a kid I did all of it take,

She made it with love because,

Every time since when I think of it, I give pause…

She let me lick the pot,

I got so messy all over my face,

As a kid she knew it was the case,

That dirty was my middle name; dad didn’t understand it a lot…

I loved her so much,

When with her I wasn’t far from her clutch,

She lived in Philly & I at the beach,

But never were we for each other too far out of reach…J

When my three grandchildren are over I dip three big spoons in the pot of pudding I'm making and they each get one. No fighting that way, Dirty Ed!

Love ya!

"Dirty was my middle name!"

Wow - you sure gave me some great memories in this one. It seems like only yesterday when I would hear dear old Brother Edvard or dear old Ma yelling out: "Where's that Dirty Ed??!!"

You bring back memories of the times my mother made tapioca pudding. But best of all, was the steam pudding my grandmother made in a can, like the hobos did.

By the way, did you know that tapioca comes from the cassava plant, first found in Brazil. If eaten without proper preparation, it can be quite poisonous. I didn't know that until recently. Always thought the tapioca was a common American staple.

It is always great to recall pleasant memories and people you loved and they loved you back.
