Her soul now does freely flutter,
To her body in this world she is no longer confined,
Reluctantly her ashes did get scattered,
In the mountains she did so love,
No longer is she subjected to this life’s mindless clutter…
She & I didn’t much see eye to eye,
But because of her husband who we both loved,
We maintained the appearances that we fit with each other like a glove,
She left us so quickly we had no chance to say good bye,
As it seems to sometime happen, unfortunately, yes it does,
Some really fun times we actually did have,
We will both remember the wine bottle, her husband and I,
And the many times we did with each other get a buzz…
I'm glad I caught up with you after being unable to read poetry for a while. Reads like she was an important part of your life. Thanks for writing for her.

Ed,this was such an outpouring of emotion to someone you did not 'see eye to eye with'...it is this part of your beautiful poem that touched me the most,for me it just cemented an idea that I have long held,and that is that we sometimes miss those who may not always agree with us or see things the way we see them more than we miss those who see things as we do.I think it's those who don't see eye to eye with us who challenge us more and make us think more,I believe your 'Dearest Patti' would get a 'buzz' from this amazing poem and I too do believe she is at peace and I am very sorry for your loss ,my sympathy to all her family.
