...strive I do to help the self...

For this from my sleep I fought
By its fleeing tail this I caught

To hold on to this I did hard drive
To keep attached I must hard strive

A creaking ship I am forced to hear
My ship came in but is fast sinking I fear

To live alone I am an island unto myself
Living in a cave the rocks are my shelves

The sun does rise & for some hours shine
Inside I stay in my fabricated cave, otherwise I am fine

I eat what does of me sustain
I sneak looks at the outside through my window pane

For all this I was driven from my sleep
To write of what does from my brain seep

I don’t well comprehend of this free flowing thought
By writing; understanding of this is what I have sought…
