Ornery Old Cuss…still to this day…
In my hometown,
There was a woman,
She drove a school bus,
She was an ornery old cuss…
Still, to this day,
She recalls all the ways,
Others were bad & she still says,
You always made trouble,
You were nothing but…
Oh your poor parents,
But of course she & hers were perfect,
Carrying a wooden paddle to use on her charges,
Don’t recall anyone being beaten with it,
But just the fact that it was there,
Was enough to scare…
The woman still brings up the past,
Of those she meets in stores,
Me for one, the old bitch, from out of the past,
Dredging up old memories,
I tried to make light,
But she kept saying, keep out of trouble now,
As if she knew I was robbing banks or shooting presidents,
Just cause of my background,
Why do people treat others in this manner?
Making them feel unworthy and like that,
I have done some bad things, when younger,
I have paid the price for them,
And she just can’t let it go at that…
