Wrote this, this morning. Said something to a friend about how I would find love only when I was dead, or something to that effect and then the words came.
We Have Ever Known Verse 1: I had waited, waited so long But now I am done My eyes are closed And my hands are cold I never knew what it was like to be truly loved The man that I once loved never loved me completely So I lie here Only a body Spirit in Heaven watching down on my loved ones And to my surprise I see a stranger Knowing no better he sits with me all the time And I feel, feel his needing Needing a companion that won’t stray from his side And so he sits Waiting for his turn Waiting to meet me one day in the sunshine And I smile And I smile And I say to my aching heart Chorus: But wait, wait a gentleman has come along He sits by the stone Awaiting his turn to come Home And we shall dance, dance together upon his arrival We shall sing, sing a song of pure bliss in the glow And the happiness will mean so much more It will be deeper Than any happiness we have ever known Verse 2: For what has drawn thee? This man to my side I have never seen him before in my life Did he read my writings? Or hear my songs? Perhaps that’s the answer Oh I wish I could know But he waits never the less He is so patient and Heaven sent If only he could have found me Or I find him Before my last breath on this earth was taken Still I rejoice And I pray That I will see him some day So I tell myself that I just must wait And to my broken heart I still say Chorus: But wait, wait a gentleman has come along He sits by the stone Awaiting his turn to come Home And we shall dance, dance together upon his arrival We shall sing, sing a song of pure bliss in the glow And the happiness will mean so much more It will be deeper Than any happiness we have ever known Verse 3: The day is here! He has finally arrived A wedding in Heaven And I am the bride He tells me he loves me And has all along But was too shy to say the words out loud It’s never too late though As here we are Standing in beauty And dancing in stars So much more better than a love on earth A love that’s forever A love that works And now my heart It beats anew Because of the love that is shining through And so a new Chorus is to be sung Sing it on out Then this song is done Chorus: But wait, wait the gentleman is here He is standing beside me In his Heavenly Home And we are dancing, dancing together And we are singing, singing a song of pure bliss in the glow And the happiness means so much more It is so much deeper Than any happiness we have ever known We have ever known We have ever known By, Tiffany Simar 4/10/13

Ron,
I would choose to find love on this Earth as well, but right now it seems as though it won't happen. Just a song of something that seems more promising than not.

They say that in heaven all things will come to those who wait. Your poem eloquently reflects that thought. On the other hand, I am on this Earth, and I'm not waiting until I die to find love.

Such a melancholy piece of work, Tiffany. Sad, yes, but the sadness is somewhat tempered by the gentleman who sits and waits to be with you. And happiness arrives when he finally finds you and the angels sing for you the wedding song.
