I keep swallowing down this suicide
I keep choking on my pain
I cut myself while grasping at straws As I watch my life dwindle away Did you ever really know me? Did you ever really care? I'm just another f*** up Living in despair The day by day routine of life eats at my very core And when I try to evolve myself I get labeled as a whore To speak my mind makes me a bitch To be silent A coward I am To walk away may make me stronger Until I fall flat on my face again To be fat makes me a heifer To be skinny means I'm on drugs To be in between is boring To hang with different races makes me a thug I am a sinner if I am anxious A basket case if I cry I will be judged every single day of my existence And spit upon when I die I am an America A human I am from another country Black or white I'm your next door neighbor Your husband or your wife I'm a child playing pretend While ghosts haunt me at every turn I touch a stove as a reminder That I love to feel the burn Have you ever felt as I do? For I am surely not the only one Speak now or forever stand in silence Never knowing what you are worth For to admit you are human is valor To deny your human existence is living in vain I pray you find yourself Deep within these words For I did not write them for nothing They are all of what I am worth!
