Like the wishing well of old, we keep hoping.
There in the plaza a fountain stood Where people tossed coins And for favors asked return. But somehow forgot in time. For we wish for so many things And are blessed with but a few. So toss a coin, for you'll never know It might be answerd, one day for you.

Imagine how much some of those old coins that have been thrown into some of the old fountains around the world are now worth...but if removed would that not negate the wish...? e

Nicely stated George. for some reason your thoughts [here] remind me of something Emerson wrote in his essay about friendships. "For perfect friendship may be said to require natures so rare and costly, so well tempered each, and so happily adapted, that very seldom can its satisfaction be realized." In my experiences (limited though they are) the same holds true for wishes. Still ... Regards ... richard
