There are thoughts that lie in bed

That leave me in a sort of dread.

Sleep that does not erase

The disguise laying in my place.

It is a mirror of my soul

That I filled like a bowl.

It will never empty in time

For I add to it like a rhyme.

The dread is I know it well

And it teases me when I dwell

Like a devil from hell,

A thought that has cast a spell.

I feel you here George, some thoughts are consistent, constant and spell-ish. I do understand you, good poem.

"It is a mirror of my soul
That I filled like a bowl.
It will never empty in time
For I add to it like a rhyme."

We forever add to it... but do not let it tease
and do not dwell... and cast out that old devil
and replace it with something that is swell :)
