Heart Pains

How fortunate we are in a chance meeting of
one friendly and receptive

to whom we can spill it all as a good listener
sitting quietly by while

the story teller whispers mumbles talks shouts
about heart pains of the past.

And, it’s a bit of magic miraculous and unbelievable
in a rare and delicious encounter

connecting with a counselor asking the right questions
a special companion needing

to hear about our life with all its missing parts
splayed for useless examination

In that other world where friends have stopped listening
and responses mere grunts

what a treat to find solace and a friend in a loving
and assured vessel of secrecy

Susan said it all, I have no more words to add, except to say this is beautiful.

May the Lord Jesus bless you, and those whom you love, and be with you always, and at your side constantly. With much love in my heart, joy to te world, peace on earth, & ((((((((((MANY WONDERFUL SISTERLY HUGGGGSSSS)))))))))), your little sister in poetry and prose, Barbie

You have described a genuine friend with taste and a thankful note as well. I like the ease in which you convey your verse.
