Favorite FM radio stations pack too many commercials into
a span of nice music early in the morn
so I've turned to CDs and the Stream on my computer
a magical device and set up for lazy people
where one can click on to any and every kind of music
known to man and recording companies
When not at the addictive machine I put on a few CDs
you know... the ones you never play except in desperation
hearing some of the old goodies sung better to
far better arrangements than those made today
Sometime... in a fit of madness at what's not on the dial
I've tried some of the country music prevalent here in the
mountains of Georgia which in rare moments... offer
choice selections of good music and lyrics almost rhyming
But on mornings when I'm not with it... my state-wide
radio network station finally tires of Public Radio's
overdone overstated and overpushed news... allowing
good music to return to where it was on all night long
Now as my own boss in retirement...I wish to hell
that public radio didn't mean... liberal... gushing their
favorite tripe when there is no music (Ahem and Amen)
If it didn't smack of socialism I would go out and
campaign for a government sponsored net... to play
jazz and classical music for 24 1/2 hours each day. Yes!
I'll try again...the computer ate my comment...Oh my gosh, you've taken me back to Vermont mornings, baby crying, and the sound of Robert J. Lertzima (sp?) on Morning Pro Musica, and the bird calls...LOL...now I had to scratch my noggin just imagining that memory rushing back to the surface...obviously I didn't lose it in the copious snow. Oh I do have my stash of select CD's which I can savor depending on the day or the motivation. The computer's XM works well, or the choosings of the owner on mornings at the gym...can you imagine pumping iron to Bocelli? Some mood! Fortunatley, short of hard rock and some rap, I'm musically agreeable, but trash the tripe...I'm with you on that one. Try this on for size...down load winamp and you can feast to hundreds of stations all over the world. I'll bet jus one meets you heart's desire, worth yet another extra half-hour to your day. Mine are rediculously long...

Luckily we have an assortment here... with quite a few choices. But I will say that I long for the 'acousic sunrise' of yore...much easier on the ear...))

Me too...me too...me too. Here in Macon we have good music. Not the radio mind you, but the choices in music all over. I agree with you 100%...give me music and give me choices too.
