Someone said this, once, and I've investigated, and,
now, believe that when an obligatory gift is given, or received,
there is a failure, impossible to explain. Without
much energy and effort, the giver can make a presentation
differently; something silly... out of the ordinary,
and be appreciated far above the value orbeauty of the gift.
A first step is deciding that the gift will not be,
"handed over," accompanied by an inane remark, such as,
"It's probably not your size and color." You will
invest good money in purchasing it. You will select it,
believing it will make your Love smile, and,
perhaps, kiss you, knowing that
they were 'thought about' and considered
in what might be suitable for them before it was
bought. For gifts to others; take time to find
something that says, "This is how I value you."
At that point, pay for it quickly, and get the hell
out of the store, convinced it will please.
Have fun buying... with an art in giving!
Always the appreciated gift is that of one's time to select a gift or make a gift that says,"I know and appreciate you!". I agree with you William.The meaning of the gift is the thought behind it.
