There was a time when we all lived in a small town
When life was slow sincere full of madding rules
That young people invented ways to get out of town
To where life was lived the same way but differently
Anticipated season change was fun in a new Summer
Then a return to Fall's chores and school challenges
Until suddenly we were into Winter's rain and snow
Cheering a Christmas but dreading the weeks after
Along comes March and warm promises of Spring
Overnight we're treated to nature's color bounty
Of flowers first on seed packets and later for real
Filling front yards porch boxes and bouquet vases
Now let's hear it for those big multi stores in Spring
Outside and inside color panoramic magnificence
Buy if you are ready to plant and grow home color
But I greet Spring sauntering past retail bloomings
Just Beautiful! William

Garden stores are booming right now! New kinds of fertilizers and bulbs are avaliable and soon the tomato plants will be ready. I am so ready for Spring! Favorite season! Our little town has volunteers that plant flowers in designated places and it looks so bright and inviting. It is called "Bright Spots", I think every small town should have these, don't you Bill? This write gave me a kick in the pants that i needed to get my seeds started, Thanks Friend!
It's the gardem you plant with your words that counts, Bill. I get just a hint of Spring and I am ready for February to be over...with the winds the last few days, you would think it was March...but that Jessamine hasn't jumped the gun yet. It will, and I'll be more than ready. Thanks for the special reminder.

Oh! the charm of little towns; this poems takes me to that little town where short pants were paramount of scrapped knees, and the sleeve of my shirt the handkerchief; with mother in March taking all the collected seeds on the kitchen board. Father would be, for the umpteen time, be remaided of the need of a new paint coat on the outside house's walls.
Then, we get old and there comes a little poem to make us wonder if perhaps, that little town is little no more.
Well written.
