Looking back on my teenage pregnancy...
I never blamed my parents, maybe because at that time, the subject was too difficult for them to express. I can honestly say, I hadn't a clue what I was doing! I was too naive and oblivious to a future and second-thoughts didn't even exist.
Like your poem, and more informative subjects and matters, such as this ,are now offered to young adults and their parents.
There's a little better count going on between those "Minutes to Change", but obviously not enough...
Fabulous write!

Bill, you are so right. There are so many parents out there who fail to address the hard issues with their children. By the time those two minutes are over, only then do they realize it's too late. This is a didactic write that all parents and anyone who considers raising a child must heed! The "living bomb" similie is as accurate as any I have ever seen. Thanks for sharing this essential lesson in life in poetic form!

Dear Bill:
The content is the beginning of many a life, not ready to be, but I am always drawn by lines like this:
You know I've been there and done that... I look at my granddaughter and of course I love her to death but I also know how difficult it was for all involved.. funny how in the time it took to say oops it was all over and fate sealed....
A write full of wisdom my friend...you've expressed this with a sincere voice from the heart. A write and a part of life that many parents can relate to, parents from years ago, parents of today as will parents of tomorrow.
Blessings,
Joyce B.
Dear readers, this is my third book of poems, and inside are a special collection of what have turned out to be not only MY personal favorites, but also the favorites of many of YOU. Some of these have never been available in print before...
Inspirational poetry, written from the heart and soul. Verses that are well-suited for reading on a rainy day and that are guaranteed to bring a smile to your face.
