Seldom did she seek advice in things beautiful and artistic. .
Her making of beds yielded layers of smoothness;
evenly hanging on each side, and
at the head and foot; quiet imported crochet.
Visitors had a favorite; her exquisite needle work bouquets.
Portraits were purposefully hung in the order they had lived.
A few oil paintings were her works of nature and children.
An old and valued painting, the center for lesser fine prints.
Artisan table objects complimented framed art
in rooms of rare ivory and marble carvings vying with Monet.
Her talent was hardly noticed, and never prominent.
Instead, certain items on a given day would catch the eye,
only to become the fitting thing on another.
All of it blended well with furnishings in her rooms,
as if the gentle hand of Right had placed them there.

Dear Bill
What can I do but sigh? Such a beautiful poem, my friend. Something about that bed, somethig... maybe a Wyeth, maybe a room I once saw, maybe one I want to see. Oh that is poetry.
Unfortunately for me, art and the beauty of it was for the most part lost... but I do appreciate what I am able to see...))) Lovely poem Bill...one of your best ever.
