Fall Is When And Why?
The third season is always a sad one
Everyone dragging busily putting education to
work for children and themselves or paid to
teach administer or feed or transport or what have us
Fall is that unnatural time when we surprisingly
welcome outdoor air conditioning again and
begin wearing thicker clothes
the proper ones for whatever game played
Fall is named for the falling leaves as
is Spring for plants that spring up and
only God knows how Winter came about but
no one ever gets warm enough to look into it
Summer stands alone as the season too hot to handle
empty with everyone on vacation away from
worrying about its name which could mean
summer hot summer cool summer not summer in hell
Strangely I've never known when Fall begins or
ends but as a kindness I'm bringing this poem to an end

Bravo Bravo -- This has got to be one of your best. There is just too much here to quote. I've never read a better seasonal display.
First of all, I love the poem...truth adorned in humor is always a winner. BUT...I am not even sure what Fall is ... I think here we have what we call Falter (a little bit of Fall when everyone else is having Winter...lol) So I can't tell you the when, the why, and definitely not the how..lol
Nice one, Bill! :)) Love the humour here... Fall has been falling in torrents over Dorset recently and I have NOT had my Welcome Mat out... it should jolly well know it's place in the pecking order of things and wait its turn. As it is it is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too early and all I know is that it is currently falling out of favour... Yours is the kind of nonsense that rings clear as a bell with me. Love Kate xx
Well done my friend! Fall is a time of transition...however, fall is one of my favorite times of the year...it is the season when we begin truly reaping from the labors that we have sewn in our garden, a time of harvest. It's one of the most glorious seasons of the year in the mountains...the foliage is stunning. A great write, I do dread the bad weather that follows...it can be rough in the country. Enjoyed!
Blessings,

excellent piece Bill
I too at times find it hard to know when fall starts
specially when the summer drags into it's indian stage
seems like winter enters the scene
like an actor on stage, or on the silver screen.
Peace be with you
