Did you ever want to sound off
just for the yell of it
rant and rage shake the cage
telling everyone where to go
I felt like this a few days ago
rising grumpy and mouthy
and better not cross me
Then last night I tired early
retired early
slept well and long
rising to an unbelievable morning
one that still had birds in it
and each and every one singing
to me alone
Where had beautiful daybreaks gone
and why had they passed me by
What should I do now to make sure
they will come again
not for me alone
but for the good folk who
I know in my heart still make my days
I hope my friends will never know
that I spent yellow days without them
in selfish greedy hoarding of
full mornings
long afternoons and
lonely evenings
time created to be shared
hours I could have lived in part
some joyful and loving parts of theirs
I think we are all entitled to a few 'yellow' days...they make us much more appreciative of the 'rainbows' don't you think? Loved this poem, my friend....
This collection of poetry addresses the nature of time, reflections on the natural world, the difficulty of loss,
contemporary social issues and gratitude for life.

Love the opening stanza (just for the yell of it), but then the message hits home: to not be greedy. :) Excellent.
