Catching me by surprise an entire month is about gone.
How and to where gone did the days go
The ones in which I accomplished almost nothing
Many long and lazy days holding great promise
Those that started out well but dribbled to scant
In September why didn't I hear the siren call
That keen feeling ushering in another Fall
Modern school opening way before Labor Day
And why isn't Old Sol cooling off some
Does anything or anybody play by the rules
I'm thinking of asking for my money back
There's no bang for the buck after Summer goes away
Everyone expects the warm to leave with August
But there's something amiss when it stays
Bold seems on hold in the murmur of September
Nah.. don't ask for your money back.. I hear the exchange rate is terrible..))) I wish we had a different kind of autumn here but figure we just get ours while everyone else is getting winter..))) cleverly done, my friend...
Bill, that's the wonderful thing about living in the Pacific Northwest on a day like today. Sun's shining, clouds are few and we may hit a high of 65...now thats living.
And yes, all the seasons seem to fly on by me like I was standing still.
