"The older the advisor, the better the advice." Me
Gentle Is The Night
My Grandmother Broome was a philosopher
the first philosopher in my lifetime
She didn't get that way by going to college
It was her manner and purpose to declare that
Our deeds actions and promises were either right or wrong
Living with my family she had no use for in-betweens
About the pros and cons of a matter
In avoiding clashes about raising kids and making a home
My parents didn't have it easy listening to a philosopher
Even one they knew was more often right
Grandmother believed that trouble got better with time
That problems were easier to handle by morning
And I learned the truth of this
There is something magic about hours of sleep
While the night washes out a lot of dirt
And purifies the tainted stuff
After grandmother's days we have complicated life
With markets for what isn't really needed
And we don't listen to home based philosophers
Assuring us with four simple words - gentle is the night
