Nature didn't seem to mind the intrusion
into another world owned by
animals, birds, plants and lake fish
Once inside their world,
I was determined that
my being there would not interfere with
their regimen and quest for food and life.
I visit them regularly to enjoy being
just inside
a world of non-humans where
I absorb without taking anything
in the name of sport, or food.
Doing this gives me a satisfaction
unattainable in any other way.
And if you don't live near such a place,
use precious gas to
drive you to one so you may play by
their rules learning what you don't know;
pristine outdoor beauty just for you
in a welcome full of bird song and
in-between, soft bundles of quiet
Without our regular excursions into nature and the mountains, I believe that I would be relegated to becoming pond scum or a vegetable case. Sound advice dear friend William Broome!

I've just spent the last 3 days in 'another world.' It was beautiful beyond belief - the Manzano mountains - the colors and the wildlife. It's a good thing I took my camera, but it still doesn't do it justice.
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
