Flirtation

Flirtation

An irresistible yen to cast your net
into a school of attractive fish
finding one with fins in the right places
tail swishing slowest of all
treading water just for you
outsized eyes returning your gaze
saying tell me all about wonderful you
where is it that you swim and why
Conversational air bubbles during
fluttering eyelids of fish talk
admiring scale colors and patterns
accented by slender spine and belly
promising and delightful assets
as you contemplate a quick swim
around and behind a nearby rock
for out-of-sight trysting
toward keeping nature in balance
