Marian Wright Edelman: "No person has the right to rain on your dreams."
Dreamtime
Slipping down between the sheets I wiggle toes in
the warmth of cover, assuring momentary sleep.
Soon in another world of dreamy contentment
the mind searches the dreamer's web within
my brain's undiscovered land of imagination.
This night, I am in charge of a group touring a
place never seen by anyone for any reason at all,
and, I am an expert relating to my novice charges,
facts and information deemed proper for visitors;
I begin, You are looking at the biggest pumpkin pie
ever baked throughout the world to serve over 100.
Here is a painting containing real blood in the reds.
This chair with the hole in the seat was carved for
a dead king who ate plums and prunes regularly.
The owner of this candle, measuring ten feet in
diameter, heated a small home in the old days.
Why are those people eating nothing but M&Ms?
A doctor suggested a diet of varied colors of food.
We will now go to the basement where you are to
realize a lifetime goal; getting to the bottom of it.
My career as a tour guide began to end as each of
my followers slipped away into rooms off the
hallway, until I had only one person as dreaming
ends as that person, my wife, orders me to clear
the table, and wash dishes and silver for twelve!
Bill, thanks for the tour...very imaginative...I really don't if it was, I just wanted to see if I could write 'imaginative'...oh hell, this is a damn goood write.
If you enjoyed your tour a kind gratuity will be appreciated.
I loved the tour and here is an IOU for a generous tip.
Love,
Susan

Poor boobala Bill,
I really think it is a pity to give up authority's sweet audience for cutlery and a dishcloth. To be awakened from your frenzy of facts has me crying for you. I was snug as a bug in a rug, sharing your dreaming. I wanted more and more information from your dreamy store of knowledge. Can you please write some more.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Cheers,
Dan
Ok, sounds like the dish thing was a nightmare interrupting a please day activity. lol
