Most beautiful about a dog is its loyalty
We're talking real and absolute loyalty
not that who feeds me or needs me stuff
A particular dog has been known to
die with its owner rather than leave
when being rescues was not apparent
A dog is born with the best smeller
and it is this powerful sense of scent
that creates for the dog a friend or foe
For centuries dogs have saved humans
from dangers unrecognized by owners
Yeah they're a lot of trouble at times
and their upkeep is costly for some
but who looks at you in absolute
worship with deep soulful eyes
and where is there a loving friend
who will lick your face and hand
and never ask you where they've been
In Bonaventure Cemetary, in Savannah, Georgia, there is a monument to a man and his friend. Alongside the tomb is a statue of his beloved dog who stayed atop his grave until he died to be with his master. That animal died of a broken heart. Animals grieve deeply too.

You know, some say say that cats are too aloof and independent to be this kind of ideal friend but I disagree. I have one who I call my puppy because she follows me everywhere and whatever room I'm in so is she... and ain't it grand!!!
So true my friend, as I write and read this morning my trusted friend and companion is laying beside me warming my feet as well as my heart with her selfless warmth and friendship, my terrier my friend of nearly ten years...Boomer!
