His final paycheck covered
only one month's rent on
a vacancy where he began to
sell only hard to find things
from the tiny hole-in-the-wall
Curious customers stopped in
to buy a little this some of that
responding to his wide smile
tempting items - helping voice
about purchases at fair prices
Sales brought a wider variety
requiring added store space
revealing his secret - customers
keep finding and buying things
at their beloved hole-in-the-wall
I actually know someone who did this, a married couple. As she often says.. they aren't getting rich but they are having the time of their lives.. and to that I say...AMEN!
